I have a subwoofer (BK XLS200) which does not have auto on/off.

As much as I know it is probably better for the sub to leave it switched on, for environmental reasons I would prefer to swich it on and off with the amp.

Normally I would use a master/slave mains switch, by the amp switching on. But the sub is on the other side of the room.

Does anyone know of a wireless mains switch with the same functionality? ie I plug the switched 240v output of the amp, or a master/slave switch into a transmitter, which will switch on a socket at the other side of the room.

Could I do it with X10? Eg an X10 transmitter which fires an 'on' signal when it is switched on to a reciever at the sub end.

Just in case anyone is interested in future, I think I have worked out a way of doing it.

Plug the switched AC output of my amp to a 240v to 6v transformer
Connect the 6v output of the transformer to a X10 Powerflash Module SM10E
Set the SM10E to trigger an AM12U applicance module.

You could swap the transformer for a relay to connect to the SM10E and use it in closed contact mode.

Now I just need to decide whether it is worth the £40 or so to implement it
