Question Video and Audio Distridution

Hi Guys,

I am in the throws off building a new house and need to specify and install all the new wiring.

I am going to flood the house with CAT5e cable back to the comms cupboard with patch panels for the telephones and PC network.

I would like to do the following:

Lounge – Watch movies and listen to music thorough existing speaker setup.
Kitchen - Watch TV and listen to music through ceiling speakers.
Family Room - Watch TV and listen to music through ceiling speakers.
Bed 1 – Watch TV and music through ceiling speakers.
En suite – Listen to music through ceiling speakers from bedroom 1 source
Bathroom – Listen to music through ceiling speakers from bedroom 1 source
Bed 2 – Watch TV and listen to music through ceiling speakers.
Bed 3 – Watch TV and music through ceiling speakers.

Current Kit:
Lounge:
PLASMA TV - Samsung PS42Q7HDX
AMP - Yamaha – DSPAX620
SPEAKERS – KEF Cresta 3 Front
SPEAKERS – KEF Cresta 2 Rear – Nexus Stands
SPEAKERS – KEF Cresta C Centre
SPEAKERS – KEF Cresta PSW1000 Sub
DVD - Yamaha – DVDS796
SKYBOX - Panasonic DV3

Bed 1:
LCD TV – Samsung LE27T51BX
DVD Player
BOSE Wave Radio/CD

Family Room:
28” CRT TV
Nintendo N64
Playstation 2
PC
NAS Drive with DIVX Movies and MP3 files.

I am stuck on the video and sound distribution and my budget has become very small.

The more threads I read the more confused I am getting.

I have looked at the Pinnacle Show Centre 200 which could be an option but how would I get the sound to the ceiling speakers.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

Re: Video and Audio Distridution

Have a quick look at the ABus based systems.

Jamo, Opus, Systemline and Russound are all manufacturers who make music and composite video distriburtion systems and the first three can be built into home networking cabinents from CRIS and Home Network Sciences.

One thing to be aware of is that Systemline and Russound do not offer 'targetted IR' which allows you to specifically send your IR instructions to the device you are listening to. Without this, if you have a couple of CD players or radio tuners from the same manufacturer and send a track or station change instruction all CD players will change.
