Hi,

This is my first real look at sorting out my AV system in the lounge. I currently use a Harmony IR remote co control my rack but I am looking at moving it all into another room anc controlling it remotely.

I don't know a lot about this but figure my oprions are some sort of IR sensor near my TV and a set or repeaters on my rack components, or upgrade my remote to an RF type and just have an IR repeater in the rack?

I like the simplicity of the Harmony remotes and don't really want something as big or elaborate as the creston gear.

It would be great if someone could point out the options I have and a good place to source components?

I only really want to spend a few hundred pounds at most

Xantech do products too, which can be used in many different configurations. Some of them are available here: http://www.letsautomate.com/index.cfm?&Nav=xantech&
One of the options you have with Xantech is that, if you have coax going to both rooms, you can use it to pass the IR between rooms.

Thanks for the links, I'll take a look although it may be that a Harmony 895 will do all I need for now, providing it works of course...

The Harmony 895 is a great peice of kit, you will need the RF station for it but it will do what you want.

They do take a little bit of time to set them up and dont feel a failure if you need to call the help line (free). Once set up they really work well.

Alternatively Blue Delta are going to be launching a device called the 'hideaway' with also does everything you need, but over CAT5e cable rather than radio waves. It will also allow you to use you standard remotes. Due for launch in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the info. I have a Harmony already so hopefully the setup won't be all that bad
