Question Will surge protectors help mitigate...

problems like microwave oven, digital washer and dryer, computer, and HT processor malfunctions that can usually be cleared with a hard reboot (like pulling the plug)?

I just paid $65 to Sears to have the plug on an installed microwave "removed" so as to "reboot" the processor!

I can't believe that I forgot to try that first...

The repairman mentioned that he is replacing "main boards" on the new digital style washers and dryers like crazy; which brings me to the reason for this post.

I am thinking that having a surge protector for the entire house might be in order since my wife is eyeing those new washer/dryers and we just got a digital coffee maker that cost more than I care to mention...

What do you folks think?
