Question Lighting Queries Remote control units

Help wanted. I have posted this thread in another category here but got very little response, but thanks to those who did.

I am having some bespoke furniture made, which will come equipped with four 12 volt down lighters.

Having spoken to the surveyor, he will specify the appropriate 12 volt dimmable transformers required, that can be dimmed. However, I will have to specify my own remote control switch panel.

Can anyone recommend one that I should consider? One supplier that Ihave found is http://www.lighting-direct.co.uk/shop.asp?rn=0 but still non eth ewiser in what unit I should buy.

Since I am having a left hand side and a right hand side, it may be good to be able to control both separately, but not essential. If I but the unit before it’s installed, they would probably fit it for me.

Any help, links suggestions etc would be most welcome.

Additioanlly, the room in question has two sets of three way lights in the ceiling controlled by a two gang light switch, currently with low energy light bulbs. Is there a unit that Ican use to repalce to control these lights as well?
Or are energy effiecient light bulbs not suitable for remote control operatoin.... since they hardly get used, replacing the bulbs would not be too much of an hassle.

Hi Adrian
You can use Rako for what you want. You will need a dimming module for each cct.So thats one for the left and one for the right sides of your cabs then one or two for the ceiling lights. You would need to change the low power bulbs as most of these cant be dimmed .Then replace the light switch on your wall with a keypad and you will have on/off master raise and lower and 4 preset lighting scenes. Its a doddle to install and works very well(we have it in 4 rooms now and will replace the switches in another couple of rooms in the next few weeks.
Hope this he;ps
