You may of seen 'chav boy racers' with stupid lights on the bottom of their cars, but i recently found out that they have them on the inside as well, something like this: http://www.solware.co.uk/customise-c...on-tubes.shtml

Now i'll get to my point, i've several members home cinema pictures and some of the have lights behind the plasma, stand, speakers of whatever but for the price that some of paid it seem a little steep, so would these one designed to be used in a car work? They all seem to power via a car cigarette lighter thingy, so you it be a case of cutting that off and fitting a normal UK plug or am i being hopelessly optimistic

Hello my first post on here. I also thought about this some time ago, the problem is finding a power supply that matches the lights you want to use. I just brought a set of ebay from here, and they have worked perfectly for over 6 months now.

Yep, I can vouch for the fact that the in-car tubes will work just as well. All you need is a standard 240VAC -> 12V DC adapter that can be bought in any electrical store.

you may want to try this link www.litewave .co.uk they are led not neon but offer a full range of products to suit any situation multi colour can be programed + sound reactive. I used them to do the home cinema shown on their home page

DON'T DO THAT. Car = 12volts DC, mains = 240volts AC.

Unless you want a firework display and possibly a visit from a big red vehicle with blue lights on top.

A 12V mains adapter is required, as noted in another post above.
