I've got a 6 circuit Grafikeye in my garden house. It's linked to a "slave" panel in the house (30m away). The electrician wired it with CAT5 cable (which is too thin according to Lutron manual, it needs 18AWG minimum but works fine in the house as the runs are much shorter). I fiddled around with it by paralleling some wires (the electrician used 4 out of the 8 cores only) and it worked for a while. Now it's dead again.

Has anyone got any idea how this can be fixed? I'm very puzzled by the fact that it worked intermittently. It should either work or not.

Hi There

I do not know anything about the Graphic eye but I suggest the following:

If possible double up on the 4 wires and try using all eight.

There must be a + and- supply line to the remote panel so try three wires for each supply line and use the single wires for the other two (probably data lines)

If neither of these work you may be able to power the remote panel from an external power source and this may help. Check with the manufacturer first as this could be a bit tricky.

when you say dead do you mean the slave comms is dead if the cable has gone down you can power the slave from a local 12v supply all you need is the data connection all the info is on lutron site but if you give me a bit more info i will try to help if you need it i have installed a few so might be able to help
