Who appear to want £366.80 + VAT for it.

Overall, a quote I got from them for 3 grafik eyes, 6 control panels and some backboxes worked out at about 1/3 less than retail list price.

I've not bought anything from them yet, as my house build has been delayed, so I can't say anything about their service level, but they've responded quickly to my emails.

Can you please tell me what you would recommend as a replacement for the P100 I have? Preferably similar dimensions, cost, have at least 2 channels, easy to use (6 year old daughter and visitors need to be able to use) but a bit more robust.

I have a few thousand to spend on lighting automation for the new house.

Niko seem a fair bit cheaper than Lutron or Helvar.
Any other brands to consider?

The problem is that a filament lamp can pull an enourmous amont of current for a brief moment when it blows which is why you get a very bright flash from the lamp. This damages the triacs used by Futronix and other lighting control manufacturers who use triacs for their dimming technology. I'm sure if you look at the Futronix documentation that they specify internally fused lamps which the major brands use (such as GE, Osram etc) but these cost more than the cheap unbranded lamps which are generally not fused. The internally fused lamps can help give some protection but they are not a guarantee that you will never damage the triac.

I have experience of Niko and Lutron.

They are quite different products but. The Niko is less expensive (but actually not that much less) and is a "broader" solution in that it offers audio additions and some control. Belgian in origin, the system is widely deployed in hotels (particularly in Belguim). Lighting control works well, is fairly easy to install and program. The modules are DIN rail mountable. Keypads allow you to control lighting and Niko audio controlers and offer wireless options. Scenes and lighting levels can be controlled by the user and even set manually on the modules using a small screwdriver. Keypad styles are very continental in appearance, and you either like em or you don't!

Lutron (homeworks) is lighting only, although offers conditional logic and some very useful control capabilities, but doesn't pretend to be anything else. Keypad options are much more varied. Grafik eye installations can be extended and evolved into Homeworks. The systems are cabled differently.

This is a very very brief summary of two systems that would take a few pages to do any real justice to, so I would recommend you look at the web sites for further information.

IS there a complete rewire going in Cyril (either refurb or new build?) if so look at iLight as another option if its not a full rewire then Rako is the best solution. Depends what else your planning (multiroom AV/CCTV access control?) Niko may or may not be supported by other systems (crestron, netstreams etc)

Yes. Belgian designed, for hotels. It isn't pretty, although some people don't seem to mind. Lutron offer a great range of control styles and finishes. I know which one I would go for (and I am biased), but other considerations, not least the price usually have a bearing. The Lutron controls require a J-box to fit into which is quite deep by UK standards.

Look into Mode Lighting, few great products, Scenestyle 4 and their homeworks style Mode Evolution. UK built, bomb proof.

It's a full rewire of a Victorian house.
I was thinking of multi-room audio, but a Sonos seems a likely candidate.
Mutiroom video is required, but only to 3 rooms, only 2 rooms requiring HD.

For energy efficiency I would like to use as many LED lights as I can.

I need just 2 CCTV cameras.
