No sure quite what you mean by Rs485 or DMX as DMX uses RS485.....?

If you go the IP route you'll need to have switches and be alot more restrained when it comes to network topology.

If you use a multidrop network like RS485 or even CAN you can then daisy chain modules and have alot more freedom with the wiring.

There is also the price of units (if you're volume manufacturing them) - IP has a higher R&D cost, requires more components and is typically pricier to implement.

The real benefit of IP is being able to talk directly to the light across the internet.....realistically though you could design a 'gateway' for an RS485 network and still achieve the same result.

How did this progress ? Also is there any feedback (e.g. an LED on the panel or on the buttons) It looks like these would be ideal for my own project.

I have been considering using these CueStation Overview but they're pricey
