Used Lutron Homeworks Lighting System

I have found a dealer in my local market that has a used three panel Homeworks 8 system that is roughly 6 years old. This systems have all components including 18 dimming modules and about 15 of the 5 button keypads.

Assuming the dealers are legit, what is a 6 year old system like this worth, just for the equipment?

Also anyone knows ballpark how much it would be new?

Re: Used Lutron Homeworks Lighting System

Assuming that all is ok and working the real issue will be the reprogramming of the system. If you are not Homeworks trained, the system might be a nightmare to configure to a usable standard.

Difficult to say really depending on who they got it from and the circumstances for the install but I have been reselling Homeworks for some years and a system like that couldhave been sold to the end user for around 20k or so for 15 dimming modules, the processor and keypads.

I would be cautious with this especially if you haven't seen it working.

Any idea if there is a way to purchase an extended warranty on the system?

Re: Used Lutron Homeworks Lighting System

I dont think you can. I know that Lutron's 8 year warranty will only cover the client and building the system was installed in. You can always ring them. Try technical or sales on 0207 702 0657

I would have the dealer install it to be sure then he takes all responsibility for it working and can't pull the old "well maybe you installed it wrong" if something should fail.
