Using 12v trigger to dim lights

(I'm new to this Home Cinema business, so please excuse if this query is obvious to the fraternaty. )

I'm setting up a Home Cinema Room with a JVC HD750.

Since the screen will be fixed (Beamax A series velvet) I'd like to use the 12v trigger on the pj to control the room lights.

That is, to dim them considerably (or turn them off completely) as the pj starts to project the picture.

Then turn them up to full brilliance when the pj is turned off.

Is this possible, please?

Re: Using 12v trigger to dim lights

All you need is a lighting controller that can recall a scene from an input, This should be possible with Mode Scenestyle 2/4 and a 12V triggered relay. As the Mode has IR controls you can control the lights from your Remote and even add a suitable delay with a more complex lighting system you can even set the lights fade time to match the PJ boot time.

Many thanks for your quick reply, but are we talking £100's here?

A quick Google for "Mode Stylescene" nearly gave me a coronary.

Remember I'm a TG !

Scenestyle is actually very "cost efficient" for what your after and has inputs have a look at Lutron Graphic Eye GRX3102 for comparison

Now I know you're trying to give TG a coronary !

Many thanks for your assistance, but at those prices I think I'll just reach out and switch off the light.
