AlertMe - Maplin Bellbox & Sounder

Frustrated by the lack of a bellbox & sounder with AlertMe so thought I would have a go at trying to get my own to work!!!

I have the Maplin bellbox and sounder (item number YS09K) and have been trying to see if it would work with a smartplug and 12V supply. I can get the unit powered up, the red/blue condition lights flash and the battery starts to charge, but I can't get the strobe or siren to kick off.

The connection diagram inside the unit says it has five connections, Bell Supply +ve & -ve, bell trigger, strobe trigger and tamper return. I'm assuming the bell supply will simply be a 12V DC supply but what will the unit need to trigger the strobe and bell? I'm guessing the trigger connections look for a voltage change but not sure what this should be, or how to achieve it. Anyone have any knowledge of alarm systems?

Ideally if a smartplug(s) could power up or down when AlertMe alarms and trigger the bell box this would be a great solution to that final missing part of the system.

Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.
