Re: x10 lighting and ipod touch

If you're looking to expand your setup, you could invest in a computer controller for X10 (something like a CM11 or CM15) and try something like the Harmony software. This also provides a web browser interface for controlling your HA kit and you could just navigate to the page from your iPod Touch.

It does open other doors in terms of flexibility too as things like macros can be much more powerful with the PC control.

Re: x10 lighting and ipod touch

Hi Shane

Are we talking living room ceiling lights? because the LM12 is a plug-in module.

You need one of these: http://www.letsautomate.com/12587.cfm?

and one of these: http://www.letsautomate.com/10615.cfm?

and if you want to make floor lamp dimmable you need another LM12 or one of these: http://www.letsautomate.com/12168.cfm?

Controlling it via an iPhone/ipod touch is possible but complicated.

I agree with Winny though, with a home automation PC the possibilities are endless.

Check out homeseer as well. Home Automation Systems - HomeSeer

Hope this helps.

If you want remote control via IR then you will need one of these:

IRRF7243 RF Infrared Controller - X10 - Marmitek - Controllers - Home automation - Comm4All
