Question Backlighting sheet? Ie used with TFT screens.

I'm after some of the backlighting sheet as used behind TFT panels in LCD screens etc.

I want to be able to backlight something, but the space behind is very slim. Also heat is a consideration as well.

So bar ripping apart an LCD screen, any ideas?

Found some!.

After a little bit of searching using Yahoo. I found a company in Derbyshire.

It costs about £80 for a A4 sized sheet of Electro-luminescence backlighting.
It comes in different colours.

The price includes a 240v ac "inverter/converter" type power supply, and shipping

They do do a 12-15v board type "inverter/converter" as well.

Press here for more info

Re: Backlighting sheet? Ie used with TFT screens.

Lets resurect this rather than a new thread

For those looking for accent lighting...whilst searching for a backlight for a broken LCD , I found a few companies selling electro luminecent tape, sheets and wire.

These basically glow when an ac voltage apply and are used to backlight LCD normally,

The tapes come in any length and only need power from 1 end. They are normally less than 3mm think including a plastic protective film.

far more flexible and robust than neon and prob cheaper too - ideal for accent lighting in HC rooms ?

I havent tried myself but have ordered a small panel for my LCD repair (to a music keyboard display).

see the following sites for info
