Fingerprint Lock... yay or nay

Getting a new home cinema room/music studio installed (loft conversion which will occasionally be used as a guest room) and as I'm on a spending spree (single handledly doing my bit to prop up the economy!) I thought about getting a fingerprint lock installed at the same time as the firedoors have to go in...

Don't want to blow a massive amount, but this looked good (and has that "gadget factor" even though there are probably much fancier and more expensive units out there)

Q-See QSB180 Fingerprint door Lock with Keypad: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools

Any thoughts? Pros? Cons?

Looks good to me!!

Although I would do a bit more research to make sure that it won't lock you out of your media room!

Re: Fingerprint Lock... yay or nay

Seems a bit pointless as it has two of its three options to open it without using a finger print.

I think there are other options out there at your price point, might be worth more of a look around

Cool idea

The gadget factor is there, but man that door handle is fugly! Any biometrics will impress, have a look for a retinal scanner, less likely to get yer eyes picked out than a measely finget lopped off haha
