How long to dry a vacuum hose?

The upright vacuum cleaner we have in our house hasn't been working recently, and my landlord wanted to chuck it out. I tried it because I had an accident and badly wanted to clean it up, but it turns out the hose was blocked. So I tried blowing down the three-metre "concertina" hose and it wouldn't shift. So totally detached it from the cleaner and forced water down it, which did the trick.

But now I'm wondering how long I should let it hang down to drip dry into a bowl before I try using it again? Any ideas?

Pull a cloth tied with string through it a few times.

id be more worried about the "accident" you had going up it - use bowl warm water like everyone else

The accident was, I bought a little plastic jar of Knorr Aromat Herb seasoning and put it into my bag. Next thing I know when I get home, I find the contents all over the inside of the bag because the bottom came out of the jar (so it can be refilled). THAT'S the mess I'm talking about.

Re: How long to dry a vacuum hose?

Well, I've reattached it and it sucks well now. I only hope none of the water gets to the motor and shorts it out. Could that happen? And would it be dangerous to the user? I tried out the lasso idea and let it drip-dry for 15+ hours, and it was just about dry. I hope I don't electrocute my landlord!

You shouldn't have an issue as you describe, the issue you will nave that if the pipe was still wet inside, dirt will form a crust inside reducing the air flow.

A hamster works better. The fur soaks up more water.
