Handheld [Car] Vacuums - Recommendations

Bit of a strange one this, but living at home with my parents who have never had a car, and me only recently passing my test and purchasing a small car, I need to buy a handheld vacuum as there isn't one in our house.

I'm not looking to spend much money ideally, but would like one with decent suction (I'm waiting for the jokes... ).

Recently, my car window (front drivers side) was shattered (Bloody County Council grasscutters ). When Autoglass came out they vacuumed up the majority, but I am still finding little squares of it here and there - therefore it will need to be able to manage glass.

No animals etc will be in the car, so it won't have to clean up any hair etc, just dirt, dust, the usual stuff!

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would use a hard brush or a filling station vac. Unless you buy a henry type vac i would not bother.

The worse thing with broken windows is years later you still find bits of glass.

Handheld [Car] Vacuums are generally rubbish IMHO. Not enough umph.

Better to get the normal vacuum out the house on an extension lead.

IMO Black and Decker are crap with handheld cleaners. They break even when sucking in air.

That really suprises me and if it goes wromg its covered by the manufacturers waranty (for 12 months by law) any way and if for £40 it goes wrong after a year I will just buy another

I do agree with that but sometimes its easier with a handheld,we have two dogs and its great for just a quick 30 seconds picking up dried mud or a bit of hair etc.

But the good thing is as I still have bits around the back seats, people don't ask for a lift

I would also recommend Black & Decker. Go for the highest voltage you can, a 16.8 volt will give great suction. I currently have a 14.4 volt one that I use to clean up the 'crystal' litter around our cats litter tray and it does a great job.
