Unhappy Krups Nespresso FNA243 Water problems

I took ownership of a Krups Nespresso Concept FNA243 from a family member, once i ensured all the parts were present i was off and running great coffee, however today i filled the water container, switched it on placed a capsule in the holder closed it and hit the large coffee button

but all its does is fill the drip tray nothing comes out via the capsule

i have removed the the silver capsule cover that pierces the capsule and tried it water does pour out, but when i put it and the spring back in nothing it just fills hot water internally

the milk frother works great, anyone have any ideas

Yeah, definitely sounds like you need to descale it. I wouldn't bother with the official expensive descaling kits. Can get oust descaler from asda for £1.50.

And run it through a good few times. If its badly scaled and blocked you'll need to give it a good going over

I only ever fill mine from a Brita filter these days. It really helps
