Where to buy appliances and what brands?

Hi All

I am about to start the process of relocating and rebuilding my kitchen, but I need some advice as what brand appliances and where to buy from, I have about 2 - 2.5k can go more if needed.

I dont want top of the range things but not the cheapest either. I am looking for a Fridge/Freezer, Single Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher, Ceramic Hob and a Recirculating vent for the hob.

All need to be integrated. The integrated items I dont mind if they are different brands from each other but the ones that are on show, Microwave, Oven, Hob and Vent I want to have the same name on them. I have seen thousands of websites and even more brands but just have no clue what to go for.

Asking for advice on brands is just going to start a massive argument, so for that reason...I'm out.
But I can recommend appliancesdirect for whatever you choose.
Kitchen Appliances | Buy Ovens, Fridges, Range Cookers, Dishwashers, Washing Machines and American Fridge Freezers at Appliances Direct
They were cheapest for the American style 'LG' fridge-freezer we recently bought, and really good service.

Do you have any DAC's in your area that offer graded goods?

My kitchen has everything integrated, so if there was a small mark on something it didn't matter because a door was going to cover it.

My cooker was classed as graded because one of the ring knobs was broken, but when I collected the cooker, the broken knob had been replaced with a new one.

You can get good discount on graded products, especially if you are buying a number of items.

I would also say, don't kick yourself if you can't afford what you perceive to be the best right now.
Our kitchen budget was generous, but still had a limit.
So we back-pedalled on the appliances a tad, to get everything else.
Given that the housings are all standard sizes, you can replace/upgrade at a later date.

I don't really have budget more of what I will or won't spend on my house I only said that amount since I want to buy all the appliances with next months paycheck.

Dony. Thanks I'll try see if I can find a shop like that around my place.

Hi, I built my own house and moved in 6 months ago. We went for all new intergrated appliances. We have a fagor induction hob, 2 pyrolitic ovens, a dishwasher and extractor. I was a little dubious because they are so much cheaper than the equivalent AEG models, but I must say they are brilliant, hob is quick and easy to clean, dishwasher wisper quiet and the ovens really do clean themselves. I think they came from the appliance warehouse. Also we brought a John Lewis own brand fridge, freezer, washer and dryer. Great value, great products and brilliant customer service. They deliver at a time to suit you. We made a mistake ordering our freezer, we unpacked it to find it would not fit. They took it back without question and gave us a full refund.

We have a Fagor oven, microwave/grill and gas hob.
Very pleased with them, nicely styled, seem well built and work very well.
Also come with a 5 year warranty.

The built-in dishwasher and washing machine are Hotpoint, the glass cooker hood/extractor thing is Baumatic.
They all came with 5 year warranties too.

Re: Where to buy appliances and what brands?

Thanks I've been looking at fagor stuff but don't quite know what to make of them. They look pretty good from reviews. How does the self cleaning oven work?

So is almost everything

I was in the rather large B&Q near Castle Bromwich last weekend and it seemed that almost half of the appliances in the demo kitchens were marked as "No longer available" and the prices were removed.

I imagine that at some stage there are going to be some ex demo bargains to be had there.

Not sure if ours is self cleaning, TBH.
It was ordered via the kitchen supplier, no idea of the model or its specific functions, I just know it's a nice-looking Fagor!
I would imagine, as with other self cleaning ovens, it just heats itself to a point where everything is burnt off.
While the cycle is on (which can take hours) the oven door will lock and cannot be opened until the temperature comes down to a safe level.
