Washer Dryer Help!

Hi Guys,

Im moving into a new flat where space in my kitchen is going to be tight and I am debating whether to buy a washer dryer rather than two seperate machines, however I have heard mixed reviews. Has anyone used one, had any previous expereince? I would prefer to save space but i dont want to have to buy two new machine 12 months down the line because the washer dryer is not good!

Looking forward to hearing your replies

Thanks

Re: Washer Dryer Help!

We had a washer/dryer once. Would never have one again. Apart from the fact you can do washing or drying but never the two together so more than one load takes time. The dryer just wasn't up to it. Took far longer to dry any clothes than our seperate dryer.

Re: Washer Dryer Help!

I'd be inclined to buy separates

If you buy one machine to do both you get the worst of both worlds

Buy a good washer and, if you need one, a good dryer

The dryer really does need a good access to vent the damp outside, or, to collect the water from the clothes into a collector so that you can dump this down a sink

If it doesn't have that it just makes the whole house damp

All in one jobbies that really work tend to be extremely expensive, both to buy and to run so far as electricity costs are concerned

Family of seven here ( 5 kids)

I have over the years narrowed by opinions of white goods.

Best wahser dryer ( - £500) is a hotpoint only downside is the crap door design which will fail.

I have a bosch washer ( only 1 week old) and did have an LG ( gave this to my tennants) . I have a seperate dryer ( condensing)

I would buy seperate machines will work out cheaper in the long run.

Re: Washer Dryer Help!

I have had my Whirlpool washer-dryer for nearly 19 years and it's still going strong.

The next one I get will be a Meile, a lot of money but excellent reviews.
