Looking for a budget 4 slice toaster

Emphasis on the 4th word in the thread title, thanks

Not looking for even toasting perfection, just so long as a decent job is done and it is not extremes like one side if black and the other still soft bread

Current 9 year old toaster is tripping up the breaker switch for the lights

Thanks

I mean no offence, but have you given the toaster a good clean out? Accumulated crumbs & stuff can sometimes cause minor short circuits on the exposed elements, which can trip the circuit breakers. Not sure why it's the lights and not the power circuit, though.

Re: Looking for a budget 4 slice toaster

I would go for a proline or cookworks toaster- some high street retailers stock these brands, it depends on how much you want to spend but a 'good budget' toaster may be around £15.

I hope that helps!

Only Comet will stock Proline as it's their own brand name

Re: Looking for a budget 4 slice toaster

I got one of the cookworks white 4 slice machines a few months ago.It toasts nice and evenly and is fine for the price.

My only criticism is the printed on decals by the buttons on the top rubbed off after a few weeks. As long as you remember which button does what (defrost/eject/reheat) you will be Ok.
