hi folks - looking for a bit of advice if i may....
Weve always used a traditional chip pan.... we have a large one but as the kids are growing up weve noticed that we cant actually cook enough chips in it to get a decent portion for all 5 of us - meaning were cooking 2 batches and missing meals together when its a 'chip night'
yesterday i decided that a deep fat fryer may be the way to go - its obviously safer than a chip pan so were thinking it makes sense.
Had a flick through the argos and went out and bought one that could do 1.5kg of food (on paper that sounds like a lot).... however.... when we got the unit home and unboxed it - the actual basket to cook food in is tiny! Certainly not as big as our current traditional pan. Unfortunatley this was the biggest one argos had in stock - so it was a case of a refund and call it a day.
now however - im left looking for a fryer that a) is big enough for our needs and b) doesnt look horrible (considering the fact it will have to sit on a kitchen surface for its entire life.... or can you move them?).
obviously - the cheaper the better too
