Re: best place to find cheap cookers?

Kev, sorry I can't help you much with your direct question, but indirectly, do you need a cooker at all?

I've no idea of your needs, but if you're financially strapped, why not look at alternatives such as microwave or table-top ovens, or a combo microwave which includes a fan oven? If you need a hob as well, there are single hobs you can get from Amazon at about £20 each.

This assumes you want electric units.

The cheapest cooker I can find is from Comet at £170. They do combo microwaves from about £80. Comet finance is certainly not 0%, though. Imo, you pay for cheap finance through the price of the unit. Your best bet might well be a bank loan (I know you're unemployed, but it should still be worth a try).

There are shops around that sell B Grade kitchen appliances. They are brand new but may have a dent in the side or a scratch on the paintwork. We bought a washing machine from one of these shops at a time when I was scratching around and it did sterling service for many years.

Are B grades also ones that have been used for display purposes etc? Not necessarily switched on of course.
