Re: Tassimo?

Had one since soon after release and quite pleased with it. There is now a newer model which takes larger pods in addition to original size.

Like the drinks - different coffees and hot chocolate in particular. Not an issue for me but makes a bit of noise when in use (but maybe not so in later models?).

Prices of the pods have gone up over the years (hardly a surprise!) but can still get some 4 for £10 offers from supermarkets.

Re: Tassimo?

I've had one since they came out and I love it.

It makes a damn fine cup of coffee, only down side I can think of is that the drinks aren't as hot as they are out of the kettle, not a problem if like me a cup of coffee lasts about 30seconds

thanks for your input, really appreciate it. So larger supermarkets should stock the pods?

my dad is on his second machine, nothing wrong with the first one but the new design is far better. Was in Costco on saturday it was £56 + vat for the machine.

Re: Tassimo?

Love the machine. Won it in my work's raffle last year.

You can buy the pods in all supermarkets. Except for tiny small town ones, I haven't found one not selling them yet.

The machine is superb, makes amazing coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, tea etc etc!

As with these new fangled kettles that 'boil' the water in 3 seconds, the water isn't actually boiled but just very hot. It is plenty hot enough for any of the drinks I have had so far.

At the price you can get them for now, it is a no brainer!

Re: Tassimo?

Another vote for Tassimo! In fact I'm drinking a Tassimo columbian coffee right now!

I've had mine for quite few years now (the original model shown in the photo below) and I love it. They do a great range of coffees and also make tea and hot chocolate. The Milka one is especially nice They are releasing new hot drinks all the time, for example amongst others, a nice Creme Brulee

The only downsides are the T-Disc pods can be expensive, although you sort of expect this and there are plenty of offers in local supermarkets. You can also order pods directly from the online shop at

TASSIMO - TASSIMO Machine - Discover the TASSIMO Machines for coffee, tea and chocolate

and also it is quite noisy when it is delivering the coffee into the cup, as Buzza stated, I'd be interested to know if the newer model is quieter. Finally, as others stated it isn't boiling hot but very hot although perfectly acceptable.

The Tassimo cappuccino coffee has a lovely froth on top

Just needs a good clean - goes to show how often I use it!!!

There are plenty more pods behind the first row

Re: Tassimo?

I do like the Milka hot chocolate. It gives a decent large mug size, whereas although the suchard hot chocolate is delicious, it only seems to fill a small cup.

Four cups of coffee for £10, mad.

I used (last year) to buy £5 of freshly ground coffee and that would last me a week.

I'm pretty sure they mean 4 packs for £10. I'm not sure how many discs are in a pack.

Think you have got that a bit wrong!

The majority of the packs are about £3 - £3.49 and contain either 8 or 16 drinks.

Re: Tassimo?

If the drink is a 'straightforward' tea or coffee e.g. Colombian, then there will be 2 packs of 8 pods, so 16 of the coffee. However, if the drink is a cappuccino or latte, there will be a pack of 8 pods espresso coffee and the other pack will have 8 pods of milk or creamer, thus giving you 8 drinks for your money.

There is a very good hot chocolate and I personally do like their tea (but not the decaf variety).

I can get a mug of very hot (almost boiling) water, by running it with the cleaning pod.

Hope that helps!

The picture of the 'sneezed on' machine, is the old model. The new model is a whole lot different.

Some of the coffees, particularly Cuppoccino only come in 8 packets. Because the creamer is also supplied, in a double sized disc. It's all a question of packaging. Also. Prices tend to be little cheaper down here in London. Typically £3.24 per 16 discs, in Tescos.

That's the new 'old' model. They have since done a minor revamp on this. No idea what they changes are though.

TASSIMO - Ultimate enjoyment thanks to TASSIMO T65

I do currently find the pods quite expensive and no one seems to do offers or sell them cheaper anywhere. Occassionally we do get a £1 off from Tesco via the receipt machine but nothing major. If there ever happens to be a BOGOF I will probably go mad!

I much prefer the ones that come with the double sized milk and 8 x coffee as this makes a lovely drink. The Milka hot chocolate is very nice too.

Yes. I am ploughing through some Suchards chocolate atm. The Tassimo has become a way of life in my house. Whereas you would normally grope your way, bleary eyed, into the kitchen, first thing (or maybe not) in the morning, to switch the kettle on. Here, it's always the Tassimo that goes on.

And the extra features on the new machine are:-

Multi lingual LCD display.........Not Necessary IMO

Built in water filter........Pointless. I use filtered water anyway. But still have to descale, because of hard London water.

Cup stand light.........Big deal

You will find that not all beverages make the same quantities. Did you add a creamer disc first? The Tassimo makes a 'cup' of chocolate, not a 'mug' of chocolate. The coffees tend to come out in larger quantities, with the exception of expresso. There is nothing wrong with your machine.

I always find that the larger Tesco's tend to have the best stocks of Tassimo stuff. They seem to take Tassimo seriously, whereas most of the others only keep 'token' stocks.

With the Milka using a creamer disc first, you do get a good sized mug full. It's only the Suchard chocolate which you use on its own that just gives you a small cup sized drink.

No, there are several drinks you do this too. The box the discs come in has instructions on it, read them!
