Currently in the home there is an old-skool metal hob kettle. Bit of guesswork with how much is needed for a cuppa but otherwise served family well

Am wondering about an electric kettle with regards to firstly efficiency, and secondly cost compared to gas for heating water

I mean anything from £5 supermarket kettles up, but not those "quick cup" kettles. They do not count. Water for tea needs to be boiling, not warm
