No warranty will cover you for a pre-existing fault.

Indeed. You may have to explore the possibility of a repair which can be costly, or buy a new fridge.

Use the purchase of goods act 1979 which should cover you for 2 years I believe. You will need to mention this at the point where you bought the goods and not the manufacturer. If its over 2 years old then repair is all you can do!!

Call outs can be expensive. Easily £50 an hour minimum, then as you said parts on top of that, you can see it can start getting rather pricey. It depends how much you paid for the fridge in the first place and whether it may be better to just replace it.

If you phone the manufacturer you will be able to find out their call out charges.

Re: Help i think my fridge is going wrong,Can i buy a extended warranty

O i forgot about this thread.

I phoned up hotpoint and paid £160 which meant they will come out and fix my problem and if it cant be fixed then they will refund my money,But if it can be fixed then the next time something happens they will come out and fix it and if it cant be fixed they will replace it.

£160 Is for 12months.

They came out and fixed it,It was a heating element that had burnt out,So they replaced that and its all good now,Took him 10minutes
