Need help/Advice on HDTV purchase

Hey all, let me explain what I am looking for my TV to do.

I am looking for a flat panel 46-55" screen size, prefer 1080p capable.

Simple enough, from my research it seems as if plasmas still have better colors than lcd's do at a cheaper price point... however this tv will be used with video games

I have read that anti-burn in technology has advanced lately, but I am still leery of burn in when I play video games...

I am also concerned about having to watch everything full screen with the plasmas, I really hate distorted images that you get when you force a 4:3 into 16:9.

It seems as if LCD is the way for me to go, however, the better picture quality of the plasmas and cheaper price has me wanting to choose plasma. CAn anyone suggest any models to look at? thank you for your time!
