Helios X3000 Photo slide show limitiation?

Having got the DVD working and also "ripped" DVDs and music streaming OK (VOBs with wifi - non encrypted only - encrypted too slow) I have now been trying to get the photo slide show working and seem to have struck some fundamental problem.

- with a photo file size of 2MB (my normal camera) and music backgroung 4 slides only play before the slide show freezes.

- with a file size of about 700Kb (an older camera) about 14 slides play (no music) before the slide show freezes.

- with about 150Kb files (no music) about 60 slides play before the slide show freezes.

Each time the X3000 then lost contact with the server. I can stream VOB files of several GB and show large 2.5MB individual files.

It seems to that it is only possible to run a slide show of up to 10MB - then the silde show freezes and interupts contact with the server until the connection is "refreshed"
(Haven't tried it wired as box now too far away from router).

Can anyone explain what is happening here - surely each photo should flush out the player memory and start again - not jusy build up and block some memory area?

This seems an intrinsic problem? Anybody else seen this?

Re: Helios X3000 Photo slide show limitiation?

I had a lot of similar problems with my 3000. Never got it to do a good photo display and my photos were generally all under 1Meg. The worst point was not being able to adjust the contrast, brightness, etc, as the default settings were horrible.
Ultimately I gave the box back and this was one of the main reasons. Probably not what you wanted to hear though!

Thanks for feedback.

The show worked via cabled LAN but yes - not brilliant for photo shows.

OK for music / vob streaming though.
