New Prime Ministers E-Petitions

There is a new electronic way of petitioning the Prime Minister, one petition awaiting names is:

"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to create a new exception to copyright law that gives individuals the right to create a private copy of copyrighted materials for their own personal use, including back-ups, archiving and shifting format."

Can't hurt to try it.

Re: New Prime Ministers E-Petitions

I've only just stumbled across this petition on the PM's site myself.

Currently there's only a pathetic 716 votes on this, so everyone who's passionate about a HDTV terrestrial service should hurry up and vote! (Pol closes on 21st Feb)

Re: New Prime Ministers E-Petitions

Doh! Serves me right for looking at two things at once.

I was meaning to point to the petition to force analogue spectrum to be made available for HDTV over terrestrial, not the petition stratagem is talking about

Re: New Prime Ministers E-Petitions

Well in the 10 days since I first posted about the HD petition there's been another 2200+ signatures to take the total at the time of writing to 2950

Shame the petition only lasts until the 21st

Re: New Prime Ministers E-Petitions

A new petition on the PM's site has started up asking for spectrum from analogue shut-down to be released to HDTV. You can find it here.

As it runs until February next year there should be plenty of time for it to build up a head of steam.
