I'm in 3 minds????
Can someone please help me make up my mind? I want to get a TV that is as future proof as possible (who doesn't?), I have narrowed my choice down to 3 TV's and they are: -
Sony 40W2000
Pioneer 427XD
Panasonic 42LXD600
My initial criteria is 90% watching Sky (and Sky+ recordings), so Freeview not so important, the rest is DVD. I will also buy an upscaling DVD player (any recommendations?). In the near future I will also look to hooking up a SFF PC for playing DivX content et al and web browsing etc (so I like the screen res of the Sony).
I have seen all these TV's in the shops playing HD content they all look great, but I cannot get them to hook the sets directly up to a Sky set top box. All their TV signals go through a distribution system and the quality is sh*te, so I cannot make a decent comparison for what I am going to use the TV for.
I am a firm believer that a screen that natively supports 1080p is the best option, as I don't understand how a TV with only 768 lines will have a better picture when displaying 1080p/i.
Can someone tell me if my train of thought(s) here is/are correct or is there something I am missing?
Are the magazines correct in saying that the Sony LCD can really outshine the Pioneer and Panasonic?
I look forward to what people have to say........
