sorry to come in on this thread late but only just had a Sony Pearl installed and I can say that is where the HD picture quality is most noticeable, blown up onto a 100 in screen.
I recorded a few of the Planet Earth and Deep Blue in anticipation and even my wife said wow when we looked at the coral fish and cuttle fish, they are phenomenal, it is just like looking out of a window. I am not normally easily pleased, which is why I bought this machine, but I am entranced by the BBC HD picture quality. If it can get better then great, but I like what I see at the moment.
However i didnt see Strictly Come Dancing on it, but I am looking forward to seeing Claire, et. al. dancing full size through my living room.
