So what do I actually buy now?

So I've got a Sony 40W.

I've read through the threads on the Showcenter, Snazio et al and am at a total loss on how to proceed.

Here's what I want to do:

I want one box that will upscale my dvd's nicely (have a hideous yamada hooked up via scart and that simply won't do)

I'd also like that box to play networked .ts files, hd xvids and h264 files from my PC in the bedroom via a powerline network (since as I understand it wireless is too slow and there's no way I'll get permission to lay cat5 everywhere)

Will the Snazio do that? Or would a good upscaling dvd player combined with something like the Showcenter do a better job?

Pleeeeease help. My Sony is deprived of content!
