HDMI DVD -TV connection problem

Please can anyone help.
I have a Samsung LE40R7 HD ready LCD TV. Yesterday I bought an LG DNX190UH DVD Player which upscales via an HDMI cable (supplied with player).

I connected the TV and DVD via HDMI and all worked fine - DVD played etc.
Tried later and rather the the LG "screen saver" a got a flashing blue then green screen. After turning DVD player on and off and playing with the resolution setting I got the screen saver up, but when i loaded a DVD got the blue/green flashing screen back.
I took the DVD player back to Comet, they set it up with the same TV model- worked fine. So I took it home- still had problem. Took the DVD player back to Comet- they changed it for a new one- Tried again at home -same problem. The fault is obviously with the TV. Any suggestions as cause of problem. ? HDMI cable- have tried 2 now- both same. ? TV HDMI interface blown? is that possible?

Think my question has you foxed!
anyway- had an engineer look at a TV today- it appear HDMI socket is blown and a new PCB card is required. So I have to wait another week before it can be fixed.
Problem is not that uncommon apparently- anyone else had similar. I worried if I should have taken a an extended warranty!

hi, just noticed your post about the screen flashing green. i have just today purchased a DNX190UH and connected it to my LG 50PX4D plasma. set it all up and when i switched it on the LG logo was pink!! i put a film on to find it all in a vivid shade of pink but then the screen flickered green and the sound was very broken and crackly. at the moment i have it on the component input which i guess i will have to put up with till it is fixed. did you notice poor sound and did the connection work intermitently? i am going to ring Comet up on monday but if they come and inspect my TV and it is found not to have a fault i am charged.
