A lot of ISP newservers won't cover binary groups, what host were you using?

This may be of help:

Try using a proper provider, a few of them do a three day trial which costs next to nothing. One month from newshosting will only cost you about £8.

edit: you might need to read some instructions for newsleecher, pressing the connect button doesn't start anything up, it's only for activating your download queue.

Try a trial of grabit instead as it's a lot better for a beginner.

Come on people, you know the forum owners don't like this sort of talk here :-( Might get them into trouble.

It's free to air material, at worst its a slightly grey area for the person distributing it, no different to lending your mate a VHS of match of the day.

Were you using your own ISP's news server?
If so many are rarely full feeds so if you can afford it a dedicated subscription news service is the way to go but of course there is always the threat of some sort of port blocking by an ISP.

Newsleecher once you've setup the details of the server you are going to connect to is easy to use, even easier if you use a NZB as you won't even have to setup/refresh individual groups on the server.
