Humax HDCI-2000 Just delivered

Hi,

this might be in the wrong section but it's to do with HD.

I've just taken delivery of the HDCI-2000 (apparently they all come with a european plug on them at the moment) and have (with an adapter) managed to power it up. My dish is pointing at Astra 2e (as i was able to recieve channels on my old digital receiver) i've powered the humax up and selected astra 2 in the satellite menu.

question: do i leave the LNB Frequency as Universal, or do I need to change it?

any advice would be really welcome

Even though its easily done dont swop the plug to a 3 pin it will void the warranty from Humax from what ive read.

BBC HD is on 10847 V 22000-5/6 to add the station go to scan then go right to the end of the list and add the transponder.

If its already been scanned you need a firmware update.

I suspect they always have, mine is an early one and it has the European plug too. The supplier threw in an adapter though.

'The StratPack Live in Concert' on Blu (1080i/60) won't start on the LX51 or 91 when outputting 1080p.
The LX51/91 crash totally on 'The Mummy' if subtitles selected. All OK on 70A.

Tks 4 the rply. I've got an adapter from my previous system (satellite in a suitcase) so i'm using that. Have scanned and picked up a few transmissions. I'll now have to upload the update using a null modem cable. Once that's done do i need to rescan again? or just add in the transponder settings as above?

Hi Malcolmmk, mine didn't throw in the adapter, he did advise weding the earth pin open and sticking the euro plug in (not really my cup of tea blowing myself up) so I've been amazingly (for me) patient.

anyhow.. just about to try and update the box now. and then depending on answer to previous question either rescan or just add in the necessary transponder.

Hi,

just connected the system to an older pc (with a serial port) and ran the update. It's now showing software version of HDXSCI 1.00.04

I guess i'll try find the BBC HD transmission now.

Can someone please guide me thru the process of adding BBC HD?

i've tried to add the transponder above but it doesn't seem to pick anything up. I'm obviously doing something wrong (wouldn't be me if I didn't).

tks

I very much doubt that, escpecially as it is an EU model!

Changing the plug from a 2 pin to 3 pin has no effect on the mains voltage that is being used, and looking at the warranty cert use of incorrect mains voltage is the only thing I can see that invalidates the warranty!

It does get ****in hot tho but then again so did my 5400!

Assuming you loaded the latest firmware from Humax, it's always best to do a factory reset after and then re-scan.
