50" Sagem HDTV check out the RPTV forum.
If it is mainly games then big screen will be good, but if its more other things then a smaller screen is advisable dependable on how far you are sitting from your screen.
You can get a Panny 42" pe50 for around £1100 as the PX60 recently been released.
The Samsung R7 series may also be worth checking out...
However, you may want to reasearch into plasma's and LCD's and decide what one you want/suits you better.

My advice would be to make a post of the plasma/lcd forums once you have sourced some sets suitable to your price bracket.
Along with price, you need to consider viewing distance, what over AV equipment you have and room layout [ie:LCD's are far better in conservatories than plasma's]
Have a look on the tv sections as there is an invaluable source of reviews, comments and information all for free...

How about the new Toshiba REGZA series. Toshiba is a good brand plus this one has two HDMI inputs something which is not common and will probably be handy later on. Only £885 for a 32" too.
