HiDef demo/tests on Hispasat, 30W

Been watching the following on Hispasat at 30 degrees west:

12042H SR13270 3/4 VPID150 APID 151 PCR 150 MPEG2

Showing 1080i clips, some in English.
Video bitrate is 15 Mbps max (was 14.64 when I was watching).
Noted some jaggies on straight edges in motion/panning shots (opera singers dress was one example).
Interestingly my old Nokia STB (with DVB2000 firmware) made a half decent job of showing this (just stuttered and went black every 6 seconds or so) ; it doesn't do as good a job on HD1 etc.
Looks great via PC though.

Hi Chris - were the jaggies dodgy de-interlacing artefacts do you think (i.e. 50i converted to 25p badly in post - or 60i to 30p ?)

How were you viewing?

Probably down to deinterlacing but ....
Didn't have time to have a really good look to try and gauge the source (only had a few minuntes to spare).
I viewed them via Twinhan satellite tuner card via 2 methods - TSReader + VLC and via DVBapps .
If I had more time I could have switched a couple of different codecs in (in DVBapps) or , better still, saved to disk and done a proper analysis ; as it is I only used the Elecard codec in DVBapps.
If I have more time at the weekend I may well save to disk and have a closer look.
Viewing was on a Hitachi 21 inch CM813ETPlus monitor from ATI Radeon card in 3 GHz Northwood PC with 1GB RAM ; no stuttering etc. detectable.

Was dead later last night - but I got video and audio no problem.
I saw the 1st 2 of the ones in the screengrabs (but don't recall the soccer one).

Haven't tried today (had to fix daughter's and mother's PCs + put new drivebelt on Flymo lawnmower).
