No HD-DVD from MS.

Looks like the HD format war is over. Blue-Ray wins!!!! I never doubted it for a second.

MS has no plans to release a HD-DVD drive for the Xbox360 in the future. It looks like there would be compatibilty issues with excisting 360s which are unable to play HD media.

Finally, we can all look forward to a single format. Wonderfull

Xbox360 won't use BluRay either.. they've given up attaching an HD drive to it.

That'll put the Xbox at a huge disadvantage as a media center in the future (compared to the PS3) but I suspect MS don't care.. they're making a fortune on the games already.

The 360 simply isnt able to do much in terms of HD. Only the games and whatever 720p material is downloaded from live.

Its a bit dissapointing to be honest coz MS were trumpeting the 360 as an HD Media center. But all it really does is play games in HD.

It doesnt even play WMV HD disks! Thats like having a DVD player that wont play DVDs!

Why assume "the wars over", just because a toy manufacturer has decided not to use it. A toy manufacturer that can't even get its goods into the shops on time.
