T2 Extreme on Pinnacle/Snazzio/Buffalo Without Skipping?

I have been trying to get my copy of T2 Extreme to play without skipping on my ShowCentre 200. I have tried streaming it (wired ethernet), direct file access and playing it off my USB 2 HD connected to the player. It plays with sound but at less than 1/2 the correct framerate? The strange thing is that ALL my other HD movies including Gladiator/LOTR ROTK etc play perfectly?

WMV HD only has a bitrate of 8mbps, so It's not a bandwidth issue.

Has anyone managed to stream/play T2 WMV HD on their ShowCentre 200 or Snazzio without problems?

This disc needs a US web site 'okay' to play first and is therfore 'protected', I don't think it plays on the machines you are talking about. You need a PC.

Obviously besides the ShowCentre 200 does not have an optical drive ;-)

I have the files split into 4X 2GB chunks with the DRM protection removed. I also own the original BTW.

Hello mremulator

I haven't played the Disc your enquiring about but can tell you it is possible to play it on the SnaZio SZ1350 - as long as the SnaZio is attached to a Network and the Network includes a PC (or MAC) that the DRM protected Disc has been inserted in and a valid licence key requested and then stored on the PC or MAC.

I believe there is an issue with the 5.1 Digital audio out at present when playing this type of Disc on the SZ1350 - you have to use the Analogue 5.1 Outs; though I know a fix is on the way.

Best regards

Joe

Like I said, it plays with sound (via analogue) but drops every other frame?
Definately not a bandwidth issue as 20mbps files seem to play perfectly

I think it's a firmware/codec problem on the ShowCentre. Plays perfectly on the PC BTW too.

i thought that device was only capable of 720P WMVHD playback not 1080P, try reading over the specs...

If T2 Extreme really is 1080P, then yes, the SC200 can only do 1080i and 720p

And Pinnacle clearly state that 1080p will drop frames - see http://webboard.pinnaclesys.com/read...&ThreadStart=0

You need to establish whether it's interlaced or progressive.
