Hi, im having trouble playing a trailer from mircosoft.

Im getting video lag, ( not sure if thats the right term) but the video looks like its juddery.
Ive got an AGP X800 Pro which owns everything apart from this?
Ive got the latest drivers etc etc.
Ive even just have a clean reinstall, any ideas anyone?
Its playing 720p videos fine?

What are you using to play it? Media player uses so many resources that HD clips really suffer. Also, hardly any graphics cards have HD acceleration built into them so the CPU/GFX alone may not be enough to process the picture fast enough (remember stand-alone DVD decoder cards?)

You need a fast cpu to run WMV.
Preferably a 3ghz P4 or a 64bit AMD athlon 64. (2.6ghz)

Your card is probably fine. You also need lots of memory. 1gb or more if you can afford it.

runing HD on a PC requires uber specs for most 1080p stuff.

I can run 720p and even 1080i no problem, but it really stuggles to run 1080p on my 6800GT.
That was with HD Quick time, not WMV.

Try the VLC Player from:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Plays almost anything and I find it uses fewer resources than WMP10.
