WMV HD DVD and SAMSUNG 3251RBD

I have seen advertised WMV HD DVD Discs such as Terminator 2, does this mean that I will get even better picture quality than if I put a normal disc into an upscaling dvd player.

I am getting the Samsung 32 51RBD and I intend to get a samsung hdmi upscaling dvd recorder, if I record of sky or even the integrated freeview(if this works) when I play back the disc on the player will this upscale the picture, doubt it will but worth asking.

Also anyone have any feedback on the samsung in terms of Sky PQ, Freeview PQ please feel free to add, I have researched for months and this TV seems to be the best for the money spent.

Thanks

Nigel

Yes because it's a high definition source rather than a standard one that's had information 'added' to fill more pixels. I assume you know you need a PC or one of a handful of decks to be able to play WMV-HD discs?

If you play back something you recorded on Sky in the DVD player then the DVD player will upscale it.
Everything you put into the TV will be scaled to the native resolution. The TV has to scale things to fill the pixels to give you a full screen, the DVD player probably has a better scaler but even plugging an Atari 2600 into your TV would result in upscaling.

Need a PC

Dont buy it ! WMV HD DVD's only play on Hi Specced PC's, they will not play on normal DVD Players. Also be aware that they use online DRM, in other words they check that the PC is in the USA and are hard to get to play at all in the UK (although you can sometimes trick them up with proxy servers).
