I think you have a dodgy keyboard, the full stop button has been replaced by the shift key

You may think capitalising every word is very good english but it actually makes it very hard to read

I think he wants to know how to get HD from his current SKY box and DVD when he gets his new TV. Sounds like another person who is being sold a HD TV without being told the facts and the costs involved to get a HD picture. I hope I am wrong.

I think the answer to your question is that there's no high definition material out yet, new players and a new Sky box will be out next year - you won't get high definition without the new equipment.

The ways of getting high definition now are very limited (mainly to PC's) and there's not much content available legally.

If your TV has component (red/green/blue RCA connectors) then you are fine to get HD resolution from the likes of an Xbox 360 now. Similar story on the VGA front, if it has one also.
When Sky+ HD launches in February/March, you will have some channels outputing over component (analogue), and others over HDMI, which is digital and encrypted. If your TV has HDMI or DVI-HDCP, then with the correct cable, you can slo watch these channels.
There are currently a few upscaling DVD players/recorders, with HDMI, and whilst they do output 720p/1080i, it is not HD - just a pesudo effect from clever mathematics guessing what sould be in the missing spaces when the image is scaled up. Basically, filling in the holes it created.
Blue-Ray and HD-DVD are not likely to be see until next Autumn at the earliest - the typical time of year when new models are scheduled for release.
As for the cost - name your price, and double it, then add VAT on top. Seriously, no-one knows other than Sky (and Telewest since they plan on doing HD fairly soon too) and the various manufacturers of the players/recorders due. You can bet it'll be high - £500+, if not nearer to £800 entry point!
What Sky's charges will be, no-one is 100% certain, but it too could be £300-400 for the STB and £10-15 per month subs on top of your current package, or a particular package, in which case the cost to you may be higher still.
