It seems to be a big secret and would love to get a couple just for "show off" factor

Also am I correct in thinking only play on a PC

There are no HD-DVD's - it's a future format.

Whilst you wait for high def discs to hit the shelves I recommend some light reading:

A careful read of the Gladiator thread is worthwhile too.

Ok

Cheers

Where can I then (legally) obtain HD movies from - I have seen dozens of clips in HD from films such as LOTR or Monsters Inc - are they just clips or is there someplace that I can go and buy the full movie

Have to say the Monsters Inc clip was gorgeous

The full movies are usually downloaded (illegally) from binary newsgroups, bitorrent etc.

There are some WHVHD DVDs available. See other threads for more info.

Both need PC's for playback.

DVHS/Theater is another option.

Duncan

There are a number of titles available in Windows Media Format if you have a PC handy. They can be sourced from Amazon in Germany, on DVD, full films, HD and English soundtrack in Dolby Digital. The choice is not massive, but they work fine.

the mpeg movies out there are not available for sale.

They are broadcasted on US satellite channels and people capture them, then put them on the web.
