Got mine yesterday, paying 30.000 Danish kroner.
It's a beauty, setup was simple, the sound much better than expected. Black is almost as black as on the CRT. Lots of details in shadows, and the test picture from one of the local channels is rock solid with beautiful colours.
Our 32 inch CRT looks så smallish compared to the 37" LCD...
The only thing annoying me, is that I can't get the remote control to work with my Nokia Mediamaster 9902S.
I almost bought a 32PF9986 in July, but then found som threads here dealing with the PF9830's. So I ended up waiting two and a half month, getting 37 instead of 32 and 9830 instead of 9986 - at the price they quoted for a 32PF9986 back in July. Strange, but a good investment in time!

well done.will be getting mine soon.was considiring a sony v 40.i have my heart and my head set on a philips though.prices here in the uk are funny at the moment.last week £2300 this week £2600.will wait until the prices drop slightly

whats the point if it doesn't take 1080p inputs?

Does it have a deinterlacer onboard that would create proper 1080p internally from a suitably flagged 1080i source?

It does seem to me like some manufacturers are going off half-cocked, simply to entice the early adopter.

Exactly how much 1080p source material is there likely to be available in the foreseeable future? Very little I would guess, unless you want to ponce around connecting your PC to your telly to watch the odd 3 minute 1080p movie trailer. 1080i compatibility will be fine I suspect for the vast majorityof us.

From broadcast sources vurtually zero however the format will be supported and I expect delievered via Blu-ray and Hd-DVD pre-recorded formats.
Long term 1920*1080 native res panels are the future and being able to accept 1080p will in turn become the norm and the price will eventually drop just like it has for the 720p native panels.

It is but this forum is for general disussions of HD not model specific technical queries which should be kept in their own relevant technology forum. The OP didn't ask any HD specific question did he?

It's no big deal just can be a bit annoying sometimes or maybe I'm just being a bit picky

It is HD TV, and Canal Digital will start sending 1080i as soon as sat boxes have been approved. Also Viasat has the Europe 1080i channel.
