I'm looking for ideas of a new sub to replace my Mordaunt Short 308 (
link) which I bought second had for £40.
Currently I have B&W 686's running bi amped off my ARCAM ARV280, and the sub is running off the high level inputs. This allows me to use the stereo direct mode straight from my DAC. I mainly listen to music which is why i've put this in the hi fi section. The sub is being used at its lowest crossover point at around 50-60HZ as this is where the bookshelves start to tail off.
Because of the occasional 5.1 use, i'd prefer a sub with both high and low level inputs, that allows both to be plugged in at once, as with some of the REL's. This is for quite a small room so huge power is not necessary. I'd like it to be quite small if possible - around a 12" cube. I guess i want to know if a new sub is worth the upgrade
I have a budget of about £200 or less really, and i'd be more than willing to go second hand. So far i've only really looked at the BK Gemini 2.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
