Help looking for a mini hi-fi with internet radio

Can someone help me please? I am looking for an all in one system with a CD player, FM and internet radio. I thought with such a short list of features, I‘d be faced with plenty of choice, but I was wrong. I can’t really see anything that fits the bill.

My eye was first caught by the Denon D-F103HR, but wasn’t able to find out much about it and what I did read didn’t seem all that positive. Also, it seems a bit old now.

Then my attention wandered briefly to The Philips MCi500H, but everything I read made the internet set up sound like a real pain, especially having to register your machine before being able to access the internet.

Further searching has lead to the Teac Reference 380 but there are no reviews for it, so it might be a figment of my imagination :-). It’s a bit over my budget of £500 as I would also need to buy speakers. I’d be willing to stretch that bit further if it was worth it. And it’s not the neat all in one kind of thing I am really after.

I’d prefer something more straightforward, I don’t even need a hard disk.

One system keeps catching my eye though, The Denon D-M37. If only it had internet radio! Maybe I can do without the internet radio, or buy a tuner and plug it in the back of the Denon? But that would defeat the object of one neat solution with a minimum of cables.

I really don’t know much about the subject and am open to suggestions. Hope you can help. Thanks.

Re: Help looking for a mini hi-fi with internet radio

I bought a Philips MCi500H direct from Philips as they were offering the best price. It arrived in a couple of days on the date they'd said it would.

Setting the system up is not difficult, yes, you do need to have internet access for registration before you can access internet radio, but it's pretty idiot-proof and I don't see what the problem is with having to register?

I just connected to my wireless router, clicked on a few prompts and was soon listening to WSFM Sydney, KRML California, Radio Seefunk etc etc....

The aux in sockets on the back I use for connection from my TV - really improves the sound!

From another post:

Quote:
Certain stations, like the BBC, broadcast in a format that the DENON Products do not support. The DENON Products play MP3 stations only, of which there are many available. However, it does not play stations that are in RealMedia or Windows Media format.
