Adding another power amp to triamp ATC SCM40

Hi all.

I have an Arcam alpha 7se cdp, alpha 8r amp and alpha 8p power amp. I am currently biamping a pair of ATC SCM40s. I posted recently about amp advice as my amp and cdp arent near good enough for the ATCs. Ill be a while saving up for my new amps and cdp and im wondering would adding another alpha 8p to triamp the ATCs make an improvement in the short term till ive more cash?

It will probably add little, unless it is of rather higher quality. At the same time, doing so will consume cash and therefore delay your purchase of the "new amps and cdp". I'd suggest exercising patience.

Active is the way to go with ATCs. I know a chap with a pair of active 50s, and they're one of the best speakers I've ever heard.

Do you mean making the ATCs I already active? Can this be done?
