Why does there seem to be a tiny difference in SQ between a Tosh HD E1 DVD/CD player and the music stored on my xbox 360's hard drive? Its strange. The 360 fires its signal via component to an lg42lc2db TV. The TV then fires that signal out of toslink into the DAC. I dont know what the bitrate is.

The Tosh DVD/CD player outputs the signal via toslink straight into the DAC. So whats going wrong? I've tried a different toslink.

Thats what I was thinking and thats what made me start this thread. Am I that deaf? I can easily tell a low bitrate vs lossless. So whats going on?

eta: I used to be able to tell low bitrate vs lossless on the imod. Its been a while since I have listened to the imod. I now automatically cup my hand when someone is speaking to me so I guess my hearing is not that great.
