Urgent micro system advice - party tonight

I've got a party tonight
I've got my speakers and amp in various boxes courtesy of the movers
I need a micro system
I've got a Richer Sounds near my office
I've got a budget of approx £250 (inc speakers)
And I'm in desperate need of your help: If you had to buy a microsystem from Richer Sounds today (within my budget), which would it be?

Many thanks

Does it Have to be a Micro system? If you were buying such a system for, let us say, a bedroom then a micro system is a sensibly unobtrusive option for a limited space ... and Richers were doing very good Teac micro as an offer in the VIP club not long ago.

But, BUT .. for a Party? No ... its a Bad Idea.

Richers can put together a simple system including leads for rather less than your £250 ..... and you can give it away after the party.

For examples See Here ...

http://www.richersounds.com/informat...st=hifisystems

and the " HI-FI SYSTEM MEGA DEAL " from the current VIP Club Offer ..Join Fast and On Line and you should be eligible by the time you get to he local branch of Richers ...

is "£99.95 " but that's rather artificial since it only includes an ipod dock rather that a CD player and so an actual system inc those Party Going Floor standers might cost you a much as £150.But if you have or can borrow an ipod then you're all set for less than £100.

Still, you never know, the local store might have something suitable in their clearance section.

You could even get one of These ...

and then throw it away after the Party.

Re: Urgent micro system advice - party tonight

thanks guys!

Ha! - *party* might be a slight overstatement, numerous friends, but music is needed and space will be a little limited. Plus I'd also like a decent system I can have in my dining room/drawing room.

It's the City branch in London - so I'll pop down before I go home to check out their clearance.

Thanks again - any other suggestions keep them coming!

ps - another reason for the micro was that I have to carry it back on the train!

On that basis I'd have been tempted by the City Branches offer of the " Panasonic SCHT330

Please note: This is a clearance item and therefore condition and accessories supplied may vary.

£99.95 Last Few TSP £169.95 SAVE £70.00 "

http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...R&tc=1&region=

Bloody Hell! Less than £100 for an entire Home Cinema System in a Box that will , I suppose, also play CDs as well as DVDs.

You Londoners really ARE Spoiled ! AND you get the exercise of carrying it home on the Tube which is a sort of combination of gymnasium and Sauna! People PAY to do weight lifting and you get to do it for free.

I hope that you Enjoyed your party whatever you decided to use for background Mu-sac.

Re: Urgent micro system advice - party tonight

Thanks arnold,

After all that, with the markets bouncing the most they ever have on friday, I didn't get the opportunity to get down there! Ended up playing music through my xbox and tv!

At least now I'll have the time to try a couple out before buying

Any further advice on a decent system, let me know.

Re: Urgent micro system advice - party tonight

Take a look at the White Tangent Clarity 4 speakers which are now £130 they destroy everything in the store under the £300 mark - the Onkyo CR515 or the Denon DAB35 are both very good micro systems
