Anyway, my freebee is on it's way.
Then let us know how you get on and pass on the link!

Re: Sound Improvement Disc

Yes dudes we should keep out minds open at all times, even when we see “products” like this :

http://www.machinadynamica.com/machina60.htm

Only $60 !!! And no I will be stuff if I am spenidng £30 on it to know that it does bugger all to my hifi. Guys there are large amounts of guff sold in hifi to people who want to hear differences, RA has made a very successful business out of it. I think it is very fair to say something is plops even if you have not tried it.

IMHO of course.

Now you'll have the mind control conspiracy theorists out in force.
Probably cheaper than Red Stripe though

Re: Sound Improvement Disc

Spend the money on music instead and stop worrying about silly things that apparently increase the SQ. Or save up and upgraade the major components, like speakers, amp or source.

Im going to go and seal my cables in a waterpump system to prevent airborne contaminates from affect the SQ

Re: Sound Improvement Disc

Well , got hold of a SID from my dealer earlier today and have just finished having a listen.
FWIW - CDP is an Arcam CD37.
Pre-recorded discs - no noticeable difference in sound at all.
Burned discs - possibly some minor improvements across the frequency range.
Not sure if there is any particular reason that there should be a difference with lossy ( 320 kbps ) music - maybe someone will be able to give a rational explanation.
Worth £20 ? - probably not to me. If I only listened to burned discs then possibly.
Not sure if any of this helps or just muddys the waters a bit more. Yes my observations are purely subjective as at the moment I have neither the time or the inclination to do a bouble blind test
Cheers.
David

Re: Sound Improvement Disc

Derek, did you recieve your CD.

Had a go with mine. Weird. Interesting effect as I kept fading the rain and bells in and out of my conciousness and then I became aware of a feeling of anxiety ?
It definitely does something..........although there is no effect on how my Hifi sounds as yet

Yes, thanks.
But haven't listened to it yet, should be able to give it the time it deserves from the middle of next week.
Will post then.
